The Cat....And The Nursery - a Neverending Love Affair

The cat has had this obsession with getting in everything meant for baby. This includes - the portable basinette, the prams (both of them) the change table, the cot, the bouncing basinette, the rocking basinette, the nappy bag et al...............also killing soft plush toys...namely a lamb, a giraffe and a bear.

I keep being told by various people that this is the cat's way of asserting dominance over the new (yet to be born) baby...I'm like how can that be?? she hasn't even seen a baby before....she knows somethings up with me, and she's been kicked off my belly a few times by the bubba but other than that she has no knowledge of what is about to assault her senses :)

I think it's part of the old adage: 'my cat likes to hide in boxes'.....she just likes to get in things - and she likes soft toys.....

So whenever she's awfully quiet and I realise I haven't seen her for a while I have this sense of dread wash over me........

BABY SHOWER 30th Oct

So Slack - So Sorry. No Baby Yet, but have a new MIMCO baby!

I can't believe how long its been since my last post!.....2 months. That's horrendous. Even for me.

So the much awaited for MIMCO Castaway bag came into stores - it's a quirky take on the signature classic button bag. Having a much publicised obsession with buttons - especialy BIG ones this bag was an obvious must for me. The first ever button bag I bought was in the honey leather and I still ave it and use it to this day. I bought that in 2004 and after 6 years it doesn't even look used!

I have to admit to being somewhat slightly disappointed when I headed into the Chadstone MIMCO boutique to see the bag - I knew it was going to be a quilted denim but in all the campaign photos it looked like it was a lilac/mauve colour.

I cracked the shits and told the MIMCO girl I hated it! LOL.

In the end I ended up using my gift voucher and buying it (as my Nappy bag) and also the Geranium button bag (pictured below) which is actually more pink than red and is just gorgeous!

So I suspect the Castaway bag will NOT become a nappy bag but that's okay....I've just sold 5 bags on ebay ;)

MIMCO Walk The Plank Bag Bigger Pics

Here are some better pics. The Armadillo is a really dark grey colour that I don't like so much but the boudoir (pink) is a really nice neutral colour...though wish it was a little less pink..........

When Is It Going To Warm Up Down South?!!

OMG....I have had good intentions of blogging more often than 3 weekly but have had so much go on in the last 4 weeks. Including getting the diagnosis of Gestational Diabetes which as 50% upset me because of the extra risks to the baby and 50% upset me because I can't eat bananas...and most things I love :(

Anyway I can't believe that Sydney has been having 20 degree minimums for over 2 weeks now ands we're lucky to crack 16 degrees and hae very few of those days with any Sun so it may as well be 12 degrees!

I have all these gorgeous sundresses that I'm dying to wear - that are bump friendly but I refuse to wear them with a chunky cardi and leggings!!

Sorry about the size of the pic above. This gorgeous bag (what little you can see of it) is the MIMCO 'Walk The Plank Bag' shown in Armadillo. I believe it also comes in 'Boudoir' which is a soft dusty baby pink. RRP $450. I am dying to get to a MIMCO and have a look as it's not available online. I'm still waiting for the denim quilted button bag to be released and at the moment it doesn't look like it's going to be any sooner than November like they told me.

I have always been partial to WITCHERY'S shoes as I have always found them really well made, comfy and good quality as well as having some unique classic and also quirky designs. It's only this year that I've lost the Shoe 'Toffee Nose' and have bought about 10 pairs of flats from K-Mart and Target @ around $10 - 15 each. Trendy without a price tag and who cares if you wreck them they were only $10...better yet buy 2 pairs for when you're 1st pair falls apart! :)

These cute cut out pairs below I bought with the Boarding Pass Voucher Promotion WITCHERY is doing that ends on September 30. I was lucky enough to use them during the 'double the promotion' period that has since finished. Instead of the $20 minimum discount I got $40 off (each!!!) on all 3 pairs!!

I LOVE the pair below but they look a bit BLERRGGHH on - maybe it's just my feet :(

These ones are gorgeous and are so comfortable. LOVE the neutral colour they are just so versatile!

I first came across JUNK CLOTHING in a small boutique in Highpoint Shopping Centre which stocked mostly cheap boutique Asian brands like Sunny Girl, XOXOXO, Hot Chilli, Alive Girl etc. I always found their styles unique and well made. Their current Spring/Summer 2010 collection is no exception.

The only retail stockists I've seen thus far is MIRAGE @ The Glen Shopping Centre - who stock JUNK, WISH and Stage 2. Otherwise you can buy JUNK online @ FREEZ CLOTHING.

Above: JUNK Congo Tank Available @ FREEZ CLOTHING
$29!!!!!

Above & Below: JUNK Congo Maxi available @ FREEZ CLOTHING
$69

The next dress is made from stretchy jersey fabric and I just love the colour of it.

All ABout Eve: Grace Dress available @ FREEZ CLOTHING
$59

Sorry about the pic but the gorgeous dress below is on trend with the military inspired theme that is in everything this Spring/Summer. Its from MYER and it's by the MYER exclusive label 'PIPER'. It came in a navy and a Khaki and I bought it as they currently have a special of 25% off when you purchase PIPER items of $100 or more.

Recent Pregnancy Friendly Purchases

I have always had a soft spot for anything fuschia.....or anything vibrantly coloured for that matter; apple green, cobalt blue, electric purple etc.
When I saw this gorgeous BLUE JUICE dress from HULA HUT I had to have it.

The soft pleats and drape of the dress I hope are pregnancy friendly...and since I'm close to being post-partum I'm hoping they will hide the extra kilograms I will have gained via eating with gay abandon....

I'm trying not to buy too many clothes that are at my pregnancy size as I hope to be back down (at least) to the weight I was pre-pregnancy and don't want too many 'larger' sized clothes around that will make me complacent......my ultimate wish is to take another 15 kgs off that!!

This gorgeous LADAKH Sorority cardigan in coral pink I also got from HULA HUT using their free delivery promotion from last week. Luckily it was an XS and the last one YAY!!!

It is such a gorgeous colour and cut. Very forgiving and flattering of the pregnant bump but I can see won't be the equivalent of wearing a tent once I drop some of the baby weight (much, much later).

I counted my cardigans and these are the only wardrobe item that out-numbers my shoe or bag collection - They number in the 100s.....I'm not too embarrassed to admit it because they are all different styles, colours, knits, weights etc. The cardigan is definitely THE MOST versatile wardrobe piece ever!

Sweet Cherry Pie - VW Melissa Collaboration Spring 2010 Bows & Hearts

Vivienne Westwood for Melissa Lady Dragon Cherry
$185
Melissa Australia

So I was totally obsessed when the first release of the Lady Dragon Vivienne Westwood/Melissa Collaboration were released in October 2008. So much so that I went out and bought one of each of the original colours - salmon with black heart, pearl with red heart, yellow with black heart & baby blue with red heart.
I wore the yellow and pearl pair and then sold the lot. They were pretty comfy shoes but slightly too quirky for my daily style.

These gorgeous Lady Dragon Cherry have got me a little bit excited again....but I will probably refrain from buying them again as they will probably meet the same fate as the Lady Dragon Hearts :(

I think the green pearlescent pair above are my favourite. So vibrant and the green sets off the red of the Cherries!

Vivienne Westwood for Melissa Lady Dragon Bow
$150 ON SALE

The lady Dragon bow which came out sometime earlier this year or perhaps 2009 is a cutie also....but I'm not as drawn to these as I am the Cherry or initially the Hearts style.....
Vivienne Westwood for Melissa Zen Girl
$135
Melissa Australia

These gorgeous Zen girl flats I absolutely adore. I'm going to buy the red and the silver. The silver are my fave as the studs are a mixture of gold silver and bronze and they're just gorgeous!
