The Cat....And The Nursery - a Neverending Love Affair

The cat has had this obsession with getting in everything meant for baby. This includes - the portable basinette, the prams (both of them) the change table, the cot, the bouncing basinette, the rocking basinette, the nappy bag et al...............also killing soft plush toys...namely a lamb, a giraffe and a bear.

I keep being told by various people that this is the cat's way of asserting dominance over the new (yet to be born) baby...I'm like how can that be?? she hasn't even seen a baby before....she knows somethings up with me, and she's been kicked off my belly a few times by the bubba but other than that she has no knowledge of what is about to assault her senses :)

I think it's part of the old adage: 'my cat likes to hide in boxes'.....she just likes to get in things - and she likes soft toys.....

So whenever she's awfully quiet and I realise I haven't seen her for a while I have this sense of dread wash over me........

The Nursery - Thus Far

ETSY LOVE - Huggabeans Crotchet Hats

I have been dying for some time to go and make some purchases at this ETSY Shop: HUGGABEANS CROTCHET.

So now that we know we're having a beautiful little boy I have put aside the much coveted pink ribbon and flower hats and bought these beauty's instead.
I can't wait to receive them....I'm not sure which is my favourite but if the little bear ears hat at the bottom comes with the baby that would be adorable! ;)

All photos courtesy of HUGGABEANS Etsy Store.

......And if the little Bean had been a girl - these are the hats I would have chosen + many many more...........

TTC - Trying to Conceive

So after a year of talking we have finally decided to try and get pregnant. Sound easy? not so with my history. With a provincial diagnosis of PCOS in 2007 we didn't try and treat the infertility side as I wasn't trying to get pregnant nor was I thinking about it in the next couple of years.

We regulated my periods and over 2 years ago I came off the pill - Loette and was getting irregualr 3 monthly periods which only recently (6 months - 1 year) became regular again.

My general naivety led me to believe that if I was menstruating regularly I was also ovulating regularly - apprently not so. Did my reasearch and found a symptom of PCOS was irregular, infrequent or absent ovulation.

I was shattered - wondering now if I had left it too late. Now I'm doing the 'what ifs' and have now come to some sort of conclusion that while I was on Loette (early 18s 19s to 20s) this may have damaged my capabilities of ovulating as it basically blocks ovulation and is as they say a 'combined pill'.

So we are only in the first month or so of trying naturally but I am so impatient and am tryingto stay positive whilst deep down thinking that we may have to go down the path of fertility treatment - clomid, ovarian driling etc.

But here's hoping that there's some life in the old duck yet......because this is all doing my head in!
